Haul,Weekend recap,Future Posts...

HAUL:

Hey Lovelies! hope you had a wonderful weekend! My weekend was a lil crazy but more on that later! Now I'm going to haul =]] I've gotten quite a bit of graduation money, and even though i told myself i was going to buy only the things i needed i splurged a lil =P

Ok so here's a list of what i got!

Aveeno Positively Radiant cleanser(i had a coupon and paid only $2.99!)

Hairspray for the dollar store(idk the name right now but its fruit scented LOL)

Studiotools Dual-Finish Brush

EcoTools Blush brush (these brushes are so great the almost caused my to brake my foot LOL read below!)

Tropez Sunrise to Sunset Eyeshadow in St. Tropez Silver

Milani Quad Shadow Wear in Wild Violets (I can't wait to swatch this one for your guys!)

LA COLORS Moisturizing Lipgloss in Sugar N' Spice, Just Kissed, and Dreamy Pink

Avon True Color Quad in Purple Haze

Avon Clearskin Immediate response Spot Treatment

and i can't remember the brand of the tweezers but when i do I'll post it up cuz those are some seriously great tweezers!

WEEKEND:

This weekend i went to get my professional graduation pictures taken which was and interesting experience! The lady taking the picture had me do the CHEESIEST poses!like putting my hand under my chin with my fingers completely straight It reminded me a vouging! or holding a flower and looking over my shoulder, for those pics i just couldn't get a natural smile and thankfully my mom didn't pic any of the cheesy looking ones for our final package! After we took the pics we went out to eat at my favorite lil place at the mall and then we stopped at Target were i bought two makeup brushes, The Studiotools brush and the Ecotools brush. Once we got home i immediately tried out the brushes and fell totally in love with them(you'll here more about them in my upcoming reviews!) I told me mom all about the brushes and then asked her if he wanted to see them she did so in my total excitement over the brushes I ran to my room to get them.Midway there my foot locked twisted all the way in one direction and them all the way in the opposite direction! I fell to the ground crying and my whole family ran over to see what was wrong! It was super embarrassing! I had to soak my foot and them wrap it.In the morning my foot was twice its normal size and purple! I still have it wrapped my mom thinks it will take a few weeks to heal. But trust my the brushes are that good!

The Skin Type Solution,and update

Hello Ladies! I just finished reading this awesome book i just had to recommend!

Omg I LOVED THIS BOOK! Basically it helps you figured out your exact skin type with a series of questionnaires and then recommends products at all prices ranges that would suit your skin best ,and get your skin in its best condition! I've already been following some of the advice in this book and i have seen results in just a few days! I was doing so many things that were wrong for my skin type, and contributing to my 2 biggest problems : redness and dark spots! I was putting cocoa butter on my face to get rid of my dark spots not knowing that it caused acne! Trust me ladies you will learn sooooo much from this book!

This week i will be "graduating" from highschool! I say "graduating" because I am homeschooled,so there isn't any ceremony or walking with a class, but they will be doing a lil something at my church so I'm excited, and I'm MOST DEFINITELY glad to be done! I'm not a studious person! lol But now that i will be done with highschool, i have to admit I'm a lil confused about what to do next =//

I'll probably be busy most of this week with finishing my final school work and getting my graduation pics taken(urg i hate pictures! lol) so i won't be updating my blog this week but next week I'll be back and you ladies kno I'll be hauling with my graduation money =P!!!

♥ Adriana

P.S.

Give me your suggestions on how i should do my makeup for my graduation pics,my robe will be blue and I'll be curling my hair with a flat iron. My mom thinks i should do my eyes grey, idk tell me what you ladies think!

Review: LA Colors makeup

Finally! I've been saying I would do this review since Christmas! Here it is ladies!

LA COLORS SIX COLOR EYESHADOW

MANUFACTURER'S DESCRIPTION:

Silky smooth eyeshadow glides on evenly for a beautiful look. Use shades individually or combine colors for a more dramatic look.

PRICE:

I paid $1 dollar because i got it at Dollar Tree bur I've seen these range from $3-$5 online

PROS:

cheaply priced
well pigmented
good color selection(six different palettes are available)

CONS:
some shades in the palette are powdery
not easy to find

(in Precious, Eye Candy, and Hipnotic)

(first row Hipnotic, second row Precious, third row Eye Candy)

(Dreamy)

WHAT I HAVE TO SAY:
I absolutely love these palettes! I have one more that is not pictured here,Cafe Au Lait, that is a palette of gorgeous neutrals (click here to see).Hipnotic one of my favs when I'm doing a punky smokey eye.Precious is a great fall palette, and Eye Candy is perfect for fun, flirty summer looks.
Now I will say the the Dreamy I bought was the least pigmented,a bit hard and kind of powdery.BUT when i purchased the same set for my Mom her set was smooth ad pigmented so, i think the one i got might have been defected. The Cafe Au Lait palette I've been using everyday I love doing a neutral look with a dramatic cat-eye winged liner. For a dollar i most definitely think you get more than you pay for with these palettes. My only complaint was that the lighter color are a bit powdery, but i use them for highlighting my brow bone, since i don't like too shimmery highlight for daytime looks. There is also a palette with purple shades, but i have not purchased it yet ;P

LA COLORS 5 COLORS METALLIC EYESHADOW PALETTE

(Wine and Roses)

MANUFACTURER'S DESCRIPTION:

L.A. COLORS 5 color Metallic Eyeshadow Palette enhances eyes with NEW BRIGHT, BOLD shades!

Magnificent metallic eyeshadows offers:

* Long lasting wear

* Silky Smooth Application

* Intense colors

* Dual Tip applicator included

PRICE:

I paid $1.50 for this at Family Dollar,it is also available at cherryculture.com for $3.oo

PROS:

cheaply priced

easier to find than the six color palettes

much smoother application than the six color palettes

HUGE color selection(available in 12 different palettes)

i actually like the sponge tip applicator!

VERY PIGMENTED!

CONS:

none so far!

WHAT I HAVE TO SAY:

These palettes are slightly higher quality the the six color palettes and have much more shimmer.I wish i they had all of the color selection at the store, but they only had this palette.I really like the first three colors for a dramatic night look and the other two are good for a purple look.

LA COLORS MOISTURE LIPSTICK

MANUFACTURER'S DESCRIPTION:

Moisturize your lips with Color. These lipsticks are enriched with Vitamin E & Aloe Vera.

PRICE:
$1

PROS:
cheaply priced

smells YUMMY!!

CONS:

Not as creamy as i would have liked

WHAT I HAVE TO SAY:

I bought this in the shade Satin.Its a shimmery,peach-y nude.Like i said,it's not as creamy as i would like,but for 1 buck I can't expect perfection.

I think its pretty clear that l love LA COLORS cosmetics.Super affordable and pretty good quality.

I'm really glad to be back to blogging,to be honest with you girls i stopped blogging for two reasons.1) I was in a funk, you kno what i mean ladies blah mood,in pajamas all day, looking terrible! and 2) I am not a good writer and i wasn't confident in my blog postings,BUT the Lovely author of Little Thoughts and Lovely Things encouraged, and inspired me so thanx hun!

I'll be getting the rest of the reviews i promised soon!

my fabulously affordable haul!

Hello ladies!

I haven't posted in a loooooooooooooong time, due to the fact that i have been so busy settling in into our new apartment, trying to catch up with my school work, and being sick for the past two days. But I'm back now,and with a fabulous haul. =]]

I went shopping last weekend to spend my remaining Christmas money and i was able to find some great deals and lots of cheap stuff!

My first stop was Dollar Tree, the one near my house is always restocking and bringing in new makeup, usually drugstore brands.I was shocked to see the Revlon Soft Eyes palettes there! These are still at Walmart for $9.00!I knew my Mom had wanted this set so I thought "at 1 dollar what a deal!" Well i was wrong! They were barely pigmented!my L.A colors e/s were 100 times better!I purchased another la colors palette and a lipstick as well. (not pictured here)

(LA colors 5 color metallic eyeshadow in Wine and Roses and Revlon soft on the eyes in Whispers Sweet Neutrals, will post swatches later)

Then over to Walmart to pick up my usual foundation Loreal True Match super blendable makeup in Sun Beige.I'm not crazy about the formula but its what I've used for 5 years now,and i just haven't found a liquid foundation that comes as close to my skin tone as that one.The usual price is $9.00 it was on sale for $7 and i had a $3 off coupon so it came out to be only 4 bucks!Awesome! With my extra cash i bought this really cute nail polish that is a sure dupe for the Sally Hansen shade "Pat on the Black", and it was only $2!

Next i went over to K-mart.My original intention was to see if the had restocked on Milani, but they hadn't,but the did have a sale on Wet and Wild products,so I helped my self to a few =]]

(Wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals makeup,Wild shine nail polish in Black Creme,And liner in Cool Green)

I also got a great deal in Avon on the Hydra-Radiance Intensive Nutrient Night Serum.
I call this stuff "miracle cream".I'll be reviewing it later. It is normally $12.50 and i got it on sale for 2 for $12.99!

I also bought a cute shirt at Ross for only $6.99 and found these cute yellow flats at Goodwill for only four dollars!

It was a great weekend for shopping! But now,sad to say, I am broke! lol! No more hauls anytime soon...

well...maybe =P

I will be reviewing all items in this post, posting swatches, and trying to get some awesome looks and Eotd posted soon!

HAPPY MARTIN LUTHER KING Jr. DAY!

Posh by Upstage Brush Set review

Last weekend i was eager to spend my Christmas cash so i hit the stores for some super shopping!I had been really wanting to try the Milani eye shadows and the only place that sells them where i live is K-mart.Its only three minutes from my house so I walked over and unfortunately there was a huge sale on Milani that i misses and there was absolutely nothing!,BUT i did spot this awesome brush set!

It's Posh by Upstage 5 Piece Mini Kit with Purse and 8 Brushes in Total.

So here's my review!

MANUFACTURER'S DESCRIPTION:

You could purchase a more expensive make-up brush, but not a better one!

Your Posh Brushes are individually handcrafted and made with the highest quality natural and synthetic hair and fitted with a richly lacquered wooden handle.

This one Posh brush kit is all you need to complete you makeup application.

Your Posh kit includes:

1.Powder Brush
2.Foundation brush
3.Smokey and Angled Eye Duo
4.Fine Conceal and Touch Up
5.Brow and Eyeliner
6.Zip purse

PRICE:$14.99

MY OPINION:

These brushes are AMAZING,not only are they beautiful but high quality. All the brushes are soft and fluffy. The Smokey and Angled Eye Duo brush picks up a lot of color,I was really impressed! The Foundation brush i use with my mineral makeup and it gave great coverage, and the Brow brush is the best brow brush i ever used!My brows never looked as nice as they did when i filled then in with this brush!

(btw someone please give me pointers on how to take a good pic of your eyes!!!and in case you were wondering i used the NYC Browser Kit in Brunette to fill in my brows)

As well as being great brushes they came in this cute travel case, when the case is zipped it's small enough to fit in you purse.

I would most definitely recommend these brushes!

While at K-mart I also scored two pairs of really cute shoes on sale for $10 bucks each =]]

In total all that i bought that day came out to only $37 bucks !Which means i still have a lot more money left over to spend =P.

I'm wishing you all a beautiful Happy New Year ladies!

My Christmas List

In my previous blog entry I said I'd put up my Christmas List so here it is :

THE SANSA CLIP

This mp3 player is so cute.I hadn't originally been planning to ask for an mp3 player, but mine broke a dew weeks ago and i had been wanting this one since last year. It's only 27 dollars at walmart.

GLAMOURAZZI DREAMY EYES Eyeshadow Pallete - LIMITED EDITION

I loooooovve this pallete! This picture does NOT do it justice, its much prettier in person, and very pigmented. Its sold at Kohls for $14.99.The brand is called Flirt! Cosmetic which is actually owned by MAC. I no longer want that Pixi pallete anymore 'cuz i feel it's too over priced and i like this on better! =P

Urban Decay Primer Potion

I can't wait until I get this!!Of course EVERYONE knows about this product, I'M like the last girl in the world that doesn't have it!!!lol

I also want some others eyeshadow sets, but i don't have pic of them,as well as some other things thats are slipping my mind.lol

So that's it i kno it's a small list, but i didn't really want much.I bet your thinking"why didn't she put a digital camera on that list?", well honestly my family is in the process of moving right now and that is just to expensive, but after the move I'm sure pics will be coming soon.

Make up and Shopping,Oh my!

Hey everybody!!

I've been having some problems with my computer so it's been really hard for me to do a blog post, but I'm just trying to do this entry anyway!

So this weekend i went to Target to see the three new makeup collections I've been dieing to check out:Pixi,Np set,and Jk Jemma Kidd.

I basically fell in love with all three collections!Target has it set up so that you can try on the products Sephora style( you can click here to check out what the displays looked like).

The Pixi collection was super cute, although very neutral, nothing to bright all very natural looking.i did see a makeup palette i most definitely will be purchasing, its the Pixi Eye beauty kit in Magic .I loved the colors, its a great palette for everyday looks.

The Np Set collection was a little boring as for as eye makeup, but the lip product were great and long lasting,my mom tried on a lipstick and it stayed on for HOURS,i was very impressed by that!

But the most exciting collection was the JK Jemma Kidd. Advertised as "from catwalk to sidewalk",the collection features bright bold colors.I love it!!!I will be buying for this line.I read it was comparable to MAC.

You can check out a great review for the line here.

Unfortunately, even though these lines are sold at Target they're pretty pricey.I saw nothing cheaper than $18,the palette i want is $28, but that is cheaper than my urban decay palette that only comes with 4 colors, and all the products were great quality.

Well while i was at Target i decided to do a little shopping and i bought this really cute top.
I'm loving these big loose shirts right now! They're so comfortable and super figure flattering!

I also picked up a Lip Lite.I love them sooo much, they taste super good and have just the right amount of color and for 3 bucks they're pretty affordable.I got Metallic Mocha.

All in all any weekend that involves makeup and shopping is a great weekend to me!LOL!

And i hope anyone that is reading my blog had a great weekend too!

So disappointed...

hey all!

I'm kinda sad today because my digital camera broke. =// idk how I'm going to do my beauty blog without a camera, but thankfully i uploaded enough pics to my computer for a few more entries.I guess I'll have to wait until after Christmas to post EOTD's ,product reviews, and hauls.

Yesterday i was watching Oprah and Alicia Keys was on to promote the movie Secret Life of Bee's. I was really inspired by her makeup to create a look, but then i remembered my camera wasn't working.=(

She had gold shadow on the inner corner's of her eyes and a blue-green liner on her bottom lash line.It was so pretty!!

.

I get inspired by looks i see on television all the time.On Wednesday's America's Next Top Model for there photo shoot the girls had dramatic 60's inspired eyes.
I'll be posting the pics of how i recreated that look soon, and i will also be posting a haul of my lipgloss collection as well as reviews.

Well,that's all for today.

A Journey Through Makeup

My makeup obsession started at age twelve. I remember like it was yesterday. For Christmas my aunt gave me a makeup bag full of Clinique, Lancome, and Estee Lauder makeup, and a sewing machine. I literally tossed the sewing machine into a corner and searched through the makeup and excitedly seared through the makeup bag it was love at first sight.

At twelve my makeup regime consisted of frost silver eyeshadow and super glossy nude pale pink lips.It was 2002 and i swore i looked like J.Lo! lol!

By thirteen my everyday look was a lilac eyeshadow by clinique called sugarberry (or something like that)lip liner and sheer gloss.I was obsessed with makeup in a bad way and i couldn't go a day without it.The worst punishment for me then was when my mom would take away my makeup bag, since this happened often a secret stash of makeup so i could still wear it!thankfully i cam to my senses and realized i could go a day without makeup and still survive, but it would be a while before i realized that it didn't define me.

At fourteen i started using products other than the ones that came in that first bag form my aunt.I experimented with different colored eyeshadows, eyeliners, lipliners, blushes, everything!!Until on day when i was 15 and a so-called "friend" told me she thought I did my makeup tacky.Since i was still defined by my makeup,I cried. She taught me "the right way" to wear makeup, her way, which frankly was quite boring.Neutral shadow and liner on the waterline,I have small almost Asian eyes and lining my eyes this way made me look terrible, but i did my eyes like this daily and threw out all my colored makeup.

Photobucket
When I turned 16 i went through this horrible wannabe punk heavy eyeliner stage.until on day I realized it just wasn't me.I had let others influence me and makeup define me for so long i didn't know who i was or what i liked. It was as if i had lost my personality.I decided to not be so focused on my looks.i wore minimal makeup and started to concentrate on other things.
One day while researching online for a school project i randomly cam across a makeup tutorial by Panacea81. I was intrigued. Although i had always loved makeup i must admit I didn't really have great technique.I watched the videos daily, but i didn't try the looks on myself to afraid that i might look "tacky''. I could just hear that old "friend's'' voice in the back of my mind. But on day i was feeling bored and i decided to try her Panacea81's technique's on myself and a love was reborn.

When I turned seventeen,i was no longer depending on everyonelse's opinion of me.i became my own person and developed my own style.I realized that it was ok to like makeup, and it didn't have to make me who i am,and there is nothing wrong with having a healthy obsession with makeup!

So this is mt beauty blog a place where I'll share my passion for all thing beauty with you, along with the happening of my daily life.Hope you enjoy!

-Adriana
PS I'm still figuring out how to work this blog,so any helpful hints and suggestions would be appreciated, especially if someone could tell me where i can find a decent template!!
